June 10th - 15th, 2024!
At the Multivrs Music Program youth ages 8-18 receive intensive instrument instruction, form a band with peers, write an original song, and perform in a culminating showcase. Through mentorship, instruction, and workshops, participants build skills and connections.
Participants write original songs in the styles of their choosing—an experience which allows them to develop their own unique voices while practicing collaboration skills. Each member develops strong skills on their own instrument, while learning to harmonize with the group. In the process, students find joy in creative expression & gain appreciation for the hard work that underlies cooperative creative efforts.
Students attend a range of arts and empowerment workshops, including DIY Music Technology, Musical History of Resistance, & Media Literacy. Lunchtime performances daily from local musicians followed by a Q and A allows students to gain inspiration and learn about the creative process.
We provide all instruments, breakfast, snacks, and lunch!
